Omak Rodeo Stampede & World Famous Suicide Race

The rodeo event that distinguishes the Omak Stampede will return again this August. The famous Omak rodeo and suicide race, in which about 40 riders and their horses charge down a high, steep embankment into and cross the Okanogan River. Indian riders make up most of the contestants in the race, which is a main attraction for this five-day rodeo extravaganza. Typically, the Omak Stampede event draws 25,000 to 30,000 people into the Omak area, a town of 4,000. The Omak stampede rodeo generates millions of dollars for the local economy and is the largest annual event in Okanogan County. Omak Stampede and World Famous Suicide Race. Stages this annual professional rodeo the second weekend in August.

  • 8 a.m.  Ride-In Sponsored by the Okanogan TEAM Penners Association 
  • 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. Western and Native Art Show 
  • 4 p.m. WRANGLER Kids Night 
  • 6 p.m. Omak Stampede Indian Encampment official Opening Ceremonies 
  • 7 p.m. Omak Stampede PRCA Rodeo and World Famous Suicide Race

  • August 10 & 11th from 9pm to 1am both nights. 
    Midnight Run , Rockin Blues & Rock Band will be at the Short Horn on August 10 & 11th from 9pm to 1am both nights. Playing great get off your duff and dance music.
